Marta CARCELLER
Marta Carceller was born in Barcelona in 1977, and is the mother of 4 children. She currently lives in Barcelona, the city where she grew up, and from where she develops all her work in a small studio.
Her academic training has revolved around music and she has a degree in psychology, which has helped her to internalise, explore and identify her emotions, in order to be able to capture them on canvas.
She is a self-taught painter; as a young girl she became interested in this art form, but could not dedicate herself intensely to it because of her other occupations. Gradually, she began to take more and more time away from other things and began to focus on what she found most fulfilling.
About Me
Passion for making the everyday into something beautiful…
Following the tragic death of her husband and father of her 4 children, she began to throw herself even more into this exciting world and to realise that what he encouraged her to do was what fulfilled her and what she needed; to stop the world to learn about herself, to learn from her own mistakes, to take the time to explore her own inner self.
Her full dedication came to an end when she was confined by the Covid pandemic; the incident gave her motivation and meaning, the confinement gave her the gift of time, and her children and Alex, her life partner, give her encouragement to keep going on this adventure.
The subjects of her works are varied, ranging from landscapes to portraits. The painter tries to reproduce everything that makes her feel, that makes her vibrate in a special way, that makes her feel alive. She is passionate about making the everyday beautiful.
The art of painting has allowed her to experiment with different materials and textures, but basically she uses acrylic paint and canvas as a support.
He knows how he starts a work, but not how he is going to finish it; in his case the act of creating has a clear starting point, but as he progresses and goes deeper into it, it becomes a really exciting and extremely enriching adventure. The learning and discovery is constant.
The painter is satisfied to be able to transmit to the spectator of her works a small part of what she feels when painting involves her in this intimate act of creating what she feels.
